Takahashi CCA-250 Modified Cassegrain OTA$21,000.00
The CCA-250 is Takahashi’s modified Ritchey–Chrétien, developed as a replacement to the BRC-250 and is designed with imaging in mind. The CCA-250 produces a flat field across an 88 mm image circle. At prime focus, it is a 250-mm aperture, f/5.0 astrograph. Coupled with a reducer, it becomes a fast f/3.6 telescope. The CCA-250 has a carbon fiber tube and a temperature compensated lens cell to maintain focus during long exposures. The CCA-250 also has an ASCOM compliant active focus system that enables computer control of the focusing system.Takahashi CCA-250 Modified Cassegrain OTAJoyce EldridgeMarch 9, 2020
Takahashi Epsilon E-130D Reflector OTA$2,600.00
The Epsilon series of astrographs are specifically designed for exceptional astrophotography. Takahashi’s proprietary optical design features a hyperbolic, concave primary mirror with a 2 element ED corrector lens to eliminate spherical aberration and coma. Compared to the conventional Schmidt camera design, the chromatic aberration is reduced by half, even out to large viewing angles.
The new ε-130D is the same aperture as the original but now uses a digital corrector. This corrector produces improved sharpness and a 1/3rd reduction in the size of the spot equaling the spot size of the E-180 at the edge producing a 44 mm diameter circle. The offset secondary insures better illumination of the image formed by the primary.
The ε-130D has a 5.9° field of view which is perfect for imaging wide field objects like comets and objects with extended nebulosity. With a speed of f/3.3 and a focal length of 430mm the ε-130D will shorten exposure times, increase color saturation and will produce wide field high performance images.Takahashi Epsilon E-130D Reflector OTAJoyce EldridgeMarch 8, 2020
Takahashi Epsilon E-180D Reflector OTA$4,800.00
The Takahashi Epsilon-180ED (D=180mm, F/2.8), based on catadioptric telescope design (means association of lenses and mirrors) offers a fundamental innovation compared with Newton reflector or Schmidt astrograph. Therefore, the Epsilon-180ED suits both visual observation and large field imaging needs.
The Epsilon-180ED wide field is perfectly flat and allows the use of traditional photographic formats as 24×36 (35mm) or 6×6 and even 6×9. Stellar images of less 20µ can be recorded, which highlights the extreme accuracy of this telescope. Epsilon’s images provide incomparable contrast and sharpness.Takahashi Epsilon E-180D Reflector OTAJoyce EldridgeMarch 8, 2020

Takahashi FC100DC Refractor OTA$2,230.00
Like the FS series, the FC series are apochromatic refractors with two-element fluorite lenses. The FC series have larger apertures and longer focal lengths than the FS series, and provide outstanding performance both for the visual observer and the digital imager. The FC series has its own dedicated set of reducers and flatteners, and is also able to use some of these accessories from the TOA series.
The FC-100DC model features a fixed dew shield and a 2.2 inch rack and pinion focuser. While a capable imaging instrument, it is designed with the visual observer in mind.Takahashi FC100DC Refractor OTAJoyce EldridgeMarch 6, 2020
Takahashi FOA-60 Refractor OTA$1,340.00
TAKAHASHI FOA-60 ORTHO APOCHROMATIC REFRACTOR
The FOA-60 is a new compact apochromatic fluorite doublet refractor from Takahashi. The telescope features a 60 mm aperture and a 530 mm focal length. (It is also available with a 1.7X extender, which increases the focal length to 901 mm. The version with the 1.7X extender is known as the FOA-60Q.)
The spacing of the doublet elements is such that the correction of the spherical aberrations is similar to that found in the much larger TOA series. This innovative design results in a Strehl ratio in excess of 96-percent for the base unit – and over 99-percent with the extender.
- Compact design for relatively long focal length, making it ideal for transport
- Outstanding visual and photographic performance, providing a 44 mm diameter image circle for full frame imaging
- Available with a 1.7x extender and a 0.93x flattener

This beautiful and supremely portable 60mm f/5.9 refractor is a joy to use! Weighing in at just about 3 pounds, the Tak FS-60CB can go anywhere dark skies take you, and because it is so lightweight, the FS-60SB doesn’t need a heavy mount underneath it, either. Day or night, alt-az or equatorial, the Takahashi FS-60 will provide you with absolutely spectacular views, and the reason why is the legendary fluorite optics created by one of the best telescope manufacturers in the business!
At the heart of the Takahashi FS-60CB is a two element fluorite lens that is multi-coated for maximum light transmission and durability. This air-spaced doublet is hard-coated in a vacuum chamber, the result of which is amazing high contrast images that will please you for years to come. In fact, the Takahashi FS-60CB also sports internal knife-edge baffles to further increase contrast by taming any stray light that may enter the system.
Takahashi Japan is not only famous for their optical quality, the mechanical specs provide a level of overall quality that can’t be beat. The 2.4″ rack and pinion focuser comes with knobs that are easy to find and rotate in the dark, even with gloves on. From that jumping off point, you can add a wide range of adapters, flatteners, reducers, and other accessories to outfit your Tak for visual use or photography.
